Description Peter Ondrejka 2016-10-31 13:32:22 UTC
Description of problem:

After submitting a new filter to the role in UI, user lands back at the Roles list. Therefore, to add another filter, user has to select the role again and direct to the Filters tab, which is cumbersome when adding multiple filters.

Expected results:

After submitting a filter, user should land at the filters tab of the edited role, so that he can review what was added and possibly add more.

Easy workaround is to open filters in non two-pane interface. On roles page click Filters button, it will open the list of filters in a new page and it behaves as described there. With current two-pane implementation I'm afraid it's not feasible to navigate to role edit in two-pane mode. What we could do is to automatically redirect to role edit as described in the workaround, would that be acceptable? Maybe we should remove filters from role edit completely as it's causing other issues, like BZ 1317857

This solution would solve my problem. After adding a filter user would land at the filter list for a role, it doesn't have to be in 2pane mode.

I don't have a strong opinion about listing filters in a two pane mode, could be useful for quick role comparison, but I'm not sure anyone uses it this way.
