Description Jiri Belka 2016-11-02 11:08:53 UTC
Created attachment 1216495 [details]
screenshot

Description of problem:

Users with various 'User' admin/manager roles are not switched to Extended view, ie. UserVmManager (on specific VM), VmCreator (on system). In case of VmCreator this is totally odd if the user hasn't created any vm yet because he would see just empty and useless Basic view page (ie. with no content).

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
ovirt-engine-userportal-4.0.5.4-0.1.el7ev.noarch

How reproducible:
100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. add a user with VmCreate on system
2. login with this user for first time into User Portal
3.

Actual results:
Basic view is displayed with no content

Expected results:
Extended view should be displayed as this is a kind of 'admin' interface, ie. it makes more sense as this role's purpose is to _do_ things.

Additional info:

Comment 1 Jiri Belka 2016-11-02 11:09:53 UTC
it used to work fine in 3.x versions.

Comment 2 Tomas Jelinek 2016-11-03 14:59:47 UTC
hmm, I can not simulate this, it works fine on my setup. Any chance there are some exceptions in the UI logs?

setting priority to low since the problem is not that the extended view is not displayed, it is just not selected by default.

There are no exceptions in ui.log _after_ login into User Portal. Ping me on IRC for access to the env if needed.
