As admin authorizes at loginpage he is redirected to "Virtul Machines" tab:

.../ovirt-engine/webadmin/?locale=en_US#vms

than follows a long pause (it depends on number of VMS) till VMS tab is displayed. 
 
And than follows redirect to "Dashboard" tab:

.../ovirt-engine/webadmin/?locale=en_US#dashboard-main

This pause and login time to admin portal could be minimized if login directly forwards to "Dashboard" tab.

Moreover, page refresh at "Dashboard" tab always loads "#vms" tab and than goes back to #dashboard-main.

Is it possible to load "#dashboard-main" tab contents on demand, when user explicitly navigate to it? This would minimize time, memory, load ..etc.

I remember opening such a bug and it was not fixed for some reason.

I remember we had an issue with it, as the dashboard tab is a UI plugin tab, and not like any other tab.

Vojtech - I fail to find your reply to this one. Can you reply again about this issue?

Perhaps a compromise can be to go through the DC tab, which obviously will take less time to load.

That's bug 1353556. Its target is 4.1 and it's currently MODIFIED.

Quoting Oved (comment 11 of bug 1353556):
