Description Peter "Pessoft" Kolínek 2016-11-03 21:13:04 UTC
Description of problem:
Recently introduced config var PingPath6 is empty by default. This makes BackupPC not supporting IPv6 in fresh installations and also backup hosts that resolved to IPv6 pings before this var has been introduced, stopped making backups due to missing pings now ( for example localhost ). Adding default value for PingPath6 identical to PingPath instead of empty value, would resolve these issues.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
BackupPC-3.3.1-6.fc24.x86_64

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Have localhost in backup hosts in BackupPC version prior to PingPath6 var support.
2. Upgrade to BackupPC with PingPath6 var support
3. Wait for next backup schedule of localhost

Actual results:
Pings to localhost return error, no backups are done.

Expected results:
Pings to localhost works after upgrade, backups continue.

This problem exists in BackupPC-3.3.1-6.fc25.x86_64 on fresh install.

I can fix this but I don't think there will be many "fresh" installs of BackupPC on F24 or F25 at this point. I have built 4.1.1 for rawhide and F26 and submitted an update.

I'm also supporting 4.1.1 on F25 through COPR[1]

If you choose to update there is manual intervention required because the ssh and rsync settings were split up so my recommendation is to adopt config.pl.rpmnew and diff your old config.pl and migrate your customizations over.
