Description of problem:
When playing a WMV video in parole (gstreamer based) under 4.8 kernel, the screen locks-up after ~5 seconds with

in journal. Killing the Xorg process restarts the video card(?). Using 4.7 kernel allows to play the video.

Doing some pruning, this bug looks to be years old. Please test on a newer kernel and reopen if the problem still exists.
