Previously, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.11 guests failed to shut down, and stopped at the "system halted" status. A patch has been applied to fix this bug, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.11 guests shut down as expected.

Fix included in qemu-kvm-1.5.3-126.el7_3.1 ----------------------reproduce------------------ Test version: qemu-kvm: qemu-kvm-1.5.3-126.el7 kernel: 3.10.0-514.2.1.el7.x86_64 test with rhel5.11-32 and rhel5.11-64 guest, boot guest, then "shutdown -h now" in the guest. guest can not be shutdown successfully, it stop at "system halted" reproduce this issue successfully. ----------------------verification------------------ Test version: qemu-kvm: qemu-kvm-1.5.3-126.el7_3.1 kernel: 3.10.0-514.2.1.el7.x86_64 Both rhel5.11-32 and rhel5.11-64 can be shutdown successfully, no "system halted". So move to VERIFIED. Since the problem described in this bug report should be resolved in a recent advisory, it has been closed with a resolution of ERRATA.
