Description Andrew Dahms 2016-11-09 01:28:35 UTC
This bug is a tracker for work on documenting how to upgrade from QCI 1.0 to QCI 1.1.

Comment 2 Antonin Pagac 2017-01-18 10:37:17 UTC
We need to change the "1. Stop any Satellite running tasks:" paragraph.
Stopping and starting foreman-tasks service is correct, however the part in between is not. "foreman-rake console" will just launch the console, we also need to tell the user what to do once the console is launched. Using dev wiki page:

$ service foreman-tasks stop
$ foreman-rake console
  irb(main):001:0> ForemanTasks::Task.where(:state => :paused).destroy_all
  irb(main):002:0> exit
$ service foreman-tasks start

"irb(main):001:0>" is a command prompt in the console, user needs to write/paste the command "ForemanTasks::Task.where(:state => :paused).destroy_all" and then "exit" in there.

Also, this procedure stops paused tasks, not running tasks. User can review running tasks via Satellite web-UI.

Comment 3 Antonin Pagac 2017-01-18 10:41:17 UTC
In point 3, it would be best to change Satellite version from:

"(for example: vesion Satellite 6.2.6)"

to:

"(for example: vesion Satellite 6.2.1)"

6.2.1 is the Satellite version before the upgrade, and that's what point 3 is about. Only after the upgrade Satellite will be in version 6.2.6.

Comment 4 Antonin Pagac 2017-01-18 10:42:18 UTC
In point 5, change:

"furor-installer --upgrade"

to:

"fusor-installer --upgrade"

It's a typo.

Comment 6 Antonin Pagac 2017-01-19 10:30:40 UTC
Going over the docs again, I think it would be best to put a link pointing to steps described in previous chapter when talking about registering to customer portal. In Prerequisites:

"Register the QuickStart Cloud Installer with the Customer Portal if it is not registered."

In this case, please consider letting the user know that he has to do the steps described in chapter 2.1, section b, up to point 'v'.

Looks good to me.
