I've attached a screenshot to demonstrate. I'm running Fedora 25 on a Dell XPS 13, with Wayland.

This is libreoffice-writer-5.2.3.2-1.fc25.x86_64

This doesn't happen on X11, nor on XWayland:

If I run LibreOffice like this: GDK_BACKEND=x11 libreoffice --writer
it looks normal and works as expected.

Judging by the size & blurriness of the icons, it kinda looks like something is doing the scaling twice (eg. gtk does it automatically and then libreoffice itself does it again not knowing gtk already deals with that), but that doesn't explain why the document area doesn't take the whole screen.

How is this a duplicate?
1) LibreOffice clearly *does* scale its window on hidpi, only does that too much, otherwise it wouldn't look all blurry

2) It works okay on X11, even with hidpi. Usable, with icons in the correct size, and a document area that *works*. I filed *this* bug as a Wayland-specific problem. It's not "Libreoffice doesn't work on hidpi" it's "libreoffice is unusable with Wayland on hidpi".

3) Unlike the screenshot in that bug, my screenshot clearly shows the document area is tiny, and thus it's not usable. It's not just "huge icons are ugly". When I open Calc, for example, I can only see ~4 cells at a time.

for the moment its all basically filed under "hidpi doesn't work" quite right. its all the same people who will have to look into it eventually.
