Description Raphael Groner 2016-11-15 19:05:38 UTC
Description of problem:
kdelibs4 will be dead soon:
https://marc.info/?l=kde-release-team&m=147882013002220&w=2
There's an upstream patch to build abakus with Qt5:
https://cgit.kde.org/abakus.git/commit/?id=5513ab38fc02d7697f0e9d35a48f8d38e17af2f9

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
0.92

How reproducible:
-

Steps to Reproduce:
1. dnf install abakus
2.
3.

Actual results:
abakus needs dependencies of kdelibs4 and qt4.

Expected results:
abakus can work with Qt5 and without kdelibs4.

Additional info:
There are other upstream fixes in newer commits, maybe consider to include them, too.

For the record, the referenced thread there does not imply anything about 3rd party applications based on kdelibs4. The topic is the bundle known as "KDE Applications".

That said, the porting work should be probably done upstream (even if the project seems to be abandoned); that single commit for a Qt5-only version does not say anything about its stability or the set of lost features.

Agreed, there should be an official release for the best case.
