Description Bryan Kearney 2016-11-17 14:38:06 UTC
the candlepin 'type' shoudl provide the information we need

Comment 1 Bryan Kearney 2016-11-17 14:38:11 UTC
Created from redmine issue http://projects.theforeman.org/issues/17148

Comment 2 Barnaby Court 2016-11-17 16:21:46 UTC
Moving to subscription-management component as the /candlepin/owners/{owner_id}/consumers endpoint can already be used to query by type which can be used to filter for hypervisors.

Comment 3 Bryan Kearney 2016-11-17 17:03:08 UTC
Upstream bug component is Candlepin

Comment 4 Tom McKay 2016-12-08 20:18:20 UTC
Ideally, content-hosts would know if they were a hypervisor, guest, or neither. Searches along the lines of hypervisor=true or virt-who=hypervisor or something similar to let me search for:
1) Search for all hypervisors
2) Search for all guests of hypervisor named XYZ
3) Search for all guests
4) Search for all VMs that are not guests

Comment 5 Bryan Kearney 2016-12-13 17:02:50 UTC
Upstream bug component is Hosts - Content
