Description Walter Neumann 2016-11-19 14:08:57 UTC
Description of problem: Mail on NFS mounted mail folder repeatedly closes and reopens the mail folder, sometimes sending text from other emails on outgoing emails.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): kernels 4.8.7-200.fc24.i686 and 4.8.6-201.fc24.i686

How reproducible: Run alpine. Within a minute the mail folder resets; emails in process are killed and outgoing emails are sometimes sent with text from other email messages.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. run alpine
2. write or read emails
3.

Actual results: Within a minute or two the mailfolder resets. Outgoing mail in process is lost or sent with text from other messages.

Additional info: THis is a kernel 4.8.xx problem. The problem is not there for kernels 4.7.xxx and earlier

Comment 1 Walter Neumann 2016-11-28 13:25:57 UTC
Still an issue with kernel 4.8.8-200.fc24.i686. Not a problem for kernels 4.7 and earlier.

Comment 2 Walter Neumann 2016-12-10 14:59:46 UTC
Alpine warns this could be a problem. NFS mount should not be used here.
