How are pcp daemons started? pmcd daemon runds under init_t which is wrong. *** Bug 1398144 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Same problem here with Fedora 25 and pcp-3.11.7-1.fc25.x86_64 I get several SELinux messages when the pmcd starts via pmcd.service for example: SELinux is preventing pmcd from open access on the file /var/tmp/pcp.xDnpSdsBs/pcp.env.path. SELinux is preventing pmcd from getattr access on the file /var/log/pcp/pmcd/pmcd.log. SELinux is preventing pmcd from getattr access on the file /var/log/pcp/pmcd/xfs.log. SELinux is preventing pmcd from read access on the directory /var/log/pcp/pmcd. Description of problem: SELinux is preventing pmcd from 'getattr' accesses on the file /var/lib/pcp/pmns/root. ***** Plugin catchall (100. confidence) suggests ************************** If you believe that pmcd should be allowed getattr access on the root file by default. Then you should report this as a bug. You can generate a local policy module to allow this access. Do allow this access for now by executing: # ausearch -c 'pmcd' --raw | audit2allow -M my-pmcd # semodule -X 300 -i my-pmcd.pp Additional Information: Source Context system_u:system_r:init_t:s0 Target Context unconfined_u:object_r:pcp_var_lib_t:s0 Target Objects /var/lib/pcp/pmns/root [ file ] Source pmcd Source Path pmcd Port <Unknown> Host (removed) Source RPM Packages Target RPM Packages Policy RPM selinux-policy-3.13.1-224.fc25.noarch Selinux Enabled True Policy Type targeted Enforcing Mode Enforcing Host Name (removed) Platform Linux (removed) 4.8.8-300.fc25.x86_64 #1 SMP Tue Nov 15 18:10:06 UTC 2016 x86_64 x86_64 Alert Count 1 First Seen 2016-11-24 16:17:10 JST Last Seen 2016-11-24 16:17:10 JST Local ID ecd2bb6a-42bb-4dae-9be5-d4e6d043a197 Raw Audit Messages type=AVC msg=audit(1479971830.548:176): avc: denied { getattr } for pid=1185 comm="pmcd" path="/var/lib/pcp/pmns/root" dev="dm-2" ino=141152949 scontext=system_u:system_r:init_t:s0 tcontext=unconfined_u:object_r:pcp_var_lib_t:s0 tclass=file permissive=0 Hash: pmcd,init_t,pcp_var_lib_t,file,getattr Version-Release number of selected component: selinux-policy-3.13.1-224.fc25.noarch Additional info: reporter: libreport-2.8.0 hashmarkername: setroubleshoot kernel: 4.8.8-300.fc25.x86_64 type: libreport
