Description Avihai 2016-11-24 09:36:32 UTC
Description of problem:
Currently say you have only 1 VM (VM1) in the export domain & you want to import from that VM1 to create multiple VM's with same parameters as VM1(much like the pool feature for regular VM's_) .

Example:
VM1 is in export domain -> please add the ability to import multiple VM's using VM1 .

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
4.1.0-0.0.master.20161111231310.gitd12e6f1.el7.centos

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1.create a VM1
2.export VM1 to export domain
3.import multiple VM's from that VM1 in the export domain.

Actual results:

Expected results:

can you please give some example use why would you want to import many times the same VM?

Comment 2 Avihai 2016-11-24 12:57:41 UTC
Yes , If for example I want to take a VM already existing at the export domain and import/duplicated it many times to create a pool of VM's with similar characteristics .

Currently this can only be done only importing one by one VM from an existing VM at export domain which is much less effective IMHO .

Comment 3 Michal Skrivanek 2016-11-25 06:36:48 UTC
So import that one VM once and create a pool based on it?

Comment 4 Avihai 2016-12-12 17:41:31 UTC
Yes , in your way you need 2 steps ( this can be implemented as you suggested) :
1) import VM
2) create a pool based on that VM

What I want to to directly in 1 step :
choose a VM already existing at the export domain and import/duplicated it many times to create a pool of VM's with similar characteristics .

We didn't get to this bug for more than 2 years, and it's not being considered for the upcoming 4.4. It's unlikely that it will ever be addressed so I'm suggesting to close it.
If you feel this needs to be addressed and want to work on it please remove cond nack and target accordingly.
