Description of problem:
Totem saves the current playlist to a file every 10 seconds. This happens in the main loop. Unfortunately the file gets also fsynced, which is a slow operation and causes stutter of the video.

On my system the calls to fsync take about 50ms most of the times, but sometimes it's as high as 300ms (which is very noticeable).

How reproducible:
This problem always occurs. Depending on the speed and power state of the HDD it's very obvious or barely noticeable.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Play any video with Totem

Actual results:
The video stutters every 10 seconds. Most of the time it's not very noticeable, but every few minutes it is.

Expected results:
The video should run smoothly.

This message is a reminder that Fedora 25 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining
and issuing updates for Fedora 25. It is Fedora's policy to close all

more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

Fedora 25 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2017-12-12. Fedora 25 is
no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further
security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the
