I am not using Gnome key-ring to manage my passwords. I use my own home-brew Rube Goldberg system of gpg (not gpg2) scripts. When presented with a keyring prompt, I cancel out of it. So, gnome-abrt's behaviour for me may be different than for the majority of users, for whom this "bug" may or may not exist. With gnome-abrt-1.2.5-1.fc25.x86_64, when configured without Gnome keyring, a informational message (in red) appears in the configuration box "Secret Service is not available, your settings won't be saved." So the bug in this report no longer exists, at least for me. |
Created attachment 1224433 [details] journal listing with "Rejected send message" errors Description of problem: gnome-abrt configuration dialog will not remember "Don't store passwords" toggle. Also, if the toggle is set to "Don't store", it stores the password anyway. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): gnome-abrt-1.2.4-3.fc24.x86_64 How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start gnome-abrt 2. Select Reporting / Preferences 3. Highlight a workflow, such as "Report Problem to Fedora Maintainers" 4. Press the "Configure" button 5. Enter a password 6. Select "Don't remember passwords" 7. Click OK 8. Click CLOSE 9. Select Problem / Quit 10. Start gnome-abrt again 11. Go to the configuration previous set, and press "Configure" Actual results: The password is still stored. And, the "Don't remember password" toggle has been unset. Expected results: The password has been cleared. The "Don't remember password" toggle is still set. Additional info: Journal contains "Rejected send message" errors generated by this process. I noticed that the password was saved during the submission of a second core dump, a day after a previous submission, even though I had checked "Don't remember password" for the first dump. I expected to be prompted for a password for the second dump, and was not.
