Using another distribution to write GRUB didn't help in this case: http://www.forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=300131 (unresolved since August 2014) Legacy BIOS boot is somehow affected too: http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=312241 http://www.forums.fedoraforum.org/showpost.php?p=1777546&postcount=6 In other words, what is written in the above link is the following: anybody can perfectly boot from the newest version (grub2-2.02-0.38.fc24 or grub2-2.02-0.37.fc25 respectively) WIN OS (in this case WIN7) with grub entry: ### BEGIN /etc/grub.d/30_os-prober ### menuentry 'Windows Boot Manager (on /dev/sda2)' --class windows --class os $menu entry_id_option 'osprober-efi-D601-A70F' { insmod part_gpt insmod fat set root='hd0,gpt2' if [ x$feature_platform_search_hint = xy ]; then search --no-floppy --fs-uuid --set=root --hint-bios=hd0,gpt2 --hint-efi=hd0,gpt2 --hint-baremetal=ahci0,gpt2 D601-A70F else search --no-floppy --fs-uuid --set=root D601-A70F fi chainloader /EFI/Microsoft/Boot/bootmgfw.efi } ### END /etc/grub.d/30_os-prober ### Am I getting this correct?
