This seems to have been fixed in Fedora 25. Sorry, actually it doesn't seem to be fixed. It seems I am still experiencing this. Additional info: - NO double dialog when pressing the shutdown button in the menu. - Double Dialog when one of the following applications are currently open: * Chrome * Firefox * Dropbox * VLC (but also closes it) - NO Double Dialog when only the following applications are currently open: * gnome-control-center * Nautilus * Rhythmbox * LibreOffice Writer, Impress, Calc * gedit Is it possible that this has to do with shutdown inhibitors? Screen recording of the behaviour after pressing control-alt-delete
Here is a small video file illustrating the issue.
Observe that right before the second dialog is shown, "Some applications are busy or have unsaved work" appears on the screen.
Having the same problem, focus is lost after two seconds, but when cancelling cannot find the second shut down window. In my case it happens with Dropbox, Firefox or VLC open but not with Chrome. This message is a reminder that Fedora 25 is nearing its end of life. Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 25. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '25'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version. Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not able to fix it before Fedora 25 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete. Fedora 25 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2017-12-12. Fedora 25 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this bug. Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed. |
Description of problem: Pressing Control-Alt-Delete (default gnome shortcut) launches the shutdown dialog and focuses the Shutdown entry. That's convenient, since I have to only press the enter key to initiate shutdown. But 2 seconds later, another identical dialog pops up *under* it, which draws the focus away from the top dialog, and requires me to use the mouse. Furthermore, I have to click the cancel button twice in order for the dialog to go away. How reproducible: Every time Steps to Reproduce: 1. Press Control-Alt-Delete 2. Wait 2 seconds 3. Observe that the focus goes away 4. Click "Cancel" 5. Observe that there is another dialog underneath Actual results: Two shutdown dialogs on top of each other are shown. Expected results: Only one dialog is shown, focus is on the Shutdown button. Additional info: Note that this happens only with the default GNOME keyboard binding. If I run gnome-session-quit --power-off From a terminal or from the Alt-F2 prompt, only one dialog is presented. Also, a workaround is to unbind the Ctrl-Alt-Delete shortcut, create a custom shortcut that runs `gnome-session-quit --power-off` and bind Ctrl-Alt-Delete to that. This possibly is related to bug #1046737 .
