Description Ryan Rowe 2016-11-30 22:08:52 UTC
Description of problem:
If I open a LibreOffice Writer document which contains an svg image, the image is now corrupted. I have tried with multiple documents which I know worked before.
If I view the PDF version of those documents saved previously, the images display fine.
If I save the document as a PDF using the F25 version of Writer, and view the PDF with evince, the image is corrupted.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

Comment 1 Ryan Rowe 2016-11-30 22:24:40 UTC
LibreOffice seems to have a problem with this svg image, which I am not allowed to upload here (great). Firefox, eog, qiv, inkscape, gimp all display it correctly.

Comment 2 David Tardon 2016-12-01 07:46:14 UTC
Well, there's nothing we can do without the image...

Comment 3 David Tardon 2016-12-01 08:31:22 UTC
Actually, could you send the image either to Caolan or myself?

this svg will not show in libreoffice writer

Open LibreOffice Writer and go to Insert> Image, then insert this file.
You should see nothing.

Now open the same file using LibreOffice Draw, or eog/firefox/qiv/gimp. Magic!

Comment 5 David Tardon 2016-12-02 08:24:35 UTC
There's no magic there: File->Open and Insert->Image simply use different filter... (LibreOffice contains, for historical reasons, two SVG import filters. One tries to preserve the SVG content, e.g., for roundtrip, but the inserted image is not editable. The other converts the SVG to a "native" representation, so it's editable.)

Comment 6 Ryan Rowe 2016-12-02 09:47:01 UTC
It's magic to me - it worked last week when I was on 24!

Comment 7 Ryan Rowe 2016-12-21 14:27:01 UTC
Could the patch https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=5903235d57acb13d9d5286d23b443a01aeab9a3c from the upstream bug be included in F25?
