Description Prarit Bhargava 2016-12-05 14:42:35 UTC
Document URL: https://beta.bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/docs/en/html/using/preferences.html indicates that there is a Preferences entry in the footer but there isn't.

Section Number and Name: ?

Describe the issue: See above.

Suggestions for improvement: There should be a Preferences entry.

Additional information: I'm trying to set the default search to show ALL bugs not just the first 25 -- since I cannot find the Preferences area, can someone please explain or indicate how to change the default?

Hmm the upstream docs don't match our UI and editing the whole doc is something we don't have the people power to do.

Maybe we can add a "Red Hat UI Changes" doc or something so we can isolate our UI changes and make it achievable.

The table is using DataTables [1] which remember the settings, so you should only have to select it once and then it will use what you picked.

Is that not working for you? Or is it some other use case?

The preferences link in our UI can be found by hovering over the user name in the top right of the page. Maybe that should have a down arrow widget to indicate it's a drop down?

There isn't a preference to change the default, it just picks the first one in the list. Do you think a lot of people would like to change the default on every table?

Ok, understood -- I didn't know if it was an oversight or something known. FWIW ... we're in the same boat in the kernel at times :)

When I do one of my saved searches it by default only shows the top 25. I'd rather see the entire list.

Yeah -- that'd definitely work. It isn't obvious where that link is.

I think they would. Power Bugzilla users like myself who look at lists of *hundreds* of bugzillas at a time will quickly find having to click an extra button on every page will find it annoying very quickly ;)

I did it 3 times and was annoyed, but that's just me being really impatient :)
