I just noticed that the system behaves better once it is fully installed. Now the wacom reports ordinary input events on the same device file as the mouse (which is, I believe, bug #133643), but at least the system doesn't freeze. This freeze could be related to bug #138658. So this bug report may actually be a duplicate. An update has been released for Fedora Core 3 (kernel-2.6.12-1.1372_FC3) which may contain a fix for your problem. Please update to this new kernel, and report whether or not it fixes your problem. If you have updated to Fedora Core 4 since this bug was opened, and the problem still occurs with the latest updates for that release, please change the version field of this bug to 'fc4'. Thank you. It used to work with 2.4.x kernels on FC1. I believe the error showed up as soon as I upgraded to a 2.6.x kernel. I'v now even had problems installing FC3 because of some conflicts. When I unplug the wacom installation goes well.
