Description Matus Honek 2016-12-06 17:56:26 UTC
+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #1276654 +++

Description:
When a service (e.g. autofs) is set to start after slapd, this is not yet sufficient, as OpenLDAP is still starting up, and doesn't serve requests yet.

Components:
openldap-servers

Proposed solution:
Preferably have OpenLDAP adapted to use systemd mechanism to ensure the slapd is fully functional when depended upon, or have another mechanism to make sure it is.

Testing scenario:
A service that is configured to start after slapd, should be able to use it. Example: set autofs to start only after slapd, it should be able to obtain it's automount information from this ldap instance.

This package has changed maintainer in the Fedora.
Reassigning to the new maintainer of this component.

Comment 2 Simon Pichugin 2020-11-26 19:52:24 UTC
After further consideration, we decided not to pursue this RFE due to OpenLDAP Server being a low priority and it's in only maintenance mode now.
