Description Stephen Martin 2004-11-25 14:44:32 UTC
Description of problem:

The ability to select emacs text editing shortcuts has been
unfortunately removed from the Keyboard Shortcuts preferences.
Bug #137410 claims that it is still settable using gconfd-editor.
This is not the case.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

gconf-editor-2.8.0-2

How reproducible:

Open gconf-editor and look the the preference, not there.

Actual results:

none

Expected results:

Find and set emacs shortcuts

Comment 1 Mark McLoughlin 2004-11-25 19:04:13 UTC
Set /desktop/gnome/interface/gtk_key_theme to "Emacs"

Comment 2 Stephen Martin 2004-11-25 19:43:50 UTC
This should be in the documentation. Probably in section 10.17 in place
of the bit that says:

Text editing shortcuts Select one of the following settings:
GNOME Default: Use this setting for standard shortcut keys.
Emacs: Use this setting for Emacs shortcut keys.
