Description Brad Diesburg 2004-11-29 05:22:42 UTC
From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041111 Firefox/1.0

Description of problem:
When I upgrade from 667 to a higher version of the Fedora 3 kernel, it no longer sees my Linksys card I have at wlan0. I type iwconfig and nothing is there. I currently use ndiswrapper for the driver.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
kernel-2.6.9-1.667

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Setup the card on the 667 kernel using ndiswrapper
2. Upgrade the kernel to either of the two newer versions
3. Card is no longer recognized by OS

Expected Results: I would expect the card configuration to stay the same through a minor kernel upgrade.

Assigning to wireless-tools.

Comment 2 Bill Nottingham 2004-11-29 17:06:15 UTC
You probably have to rebuild your ndiswrapper modules, etc. Note that those
modules aren't shipped with Fedora, are binary only, and aren't supported.
