yes, this has been discussed a number of times. No one has had the cycles to really work on it yet. The big problem is that there is no i686 for RHEL7, so we would need to use CentOS, but all the rest of EPEL uses RHEL to build against so it would be tricky in the build system. I am also not sure what the official status of i686 on CentOS is. Is it fully released and supported now? Finally, I think some CentOS folks were building epel against it on the side somewhere to test things, but I don't know the status of that either. I think perhaps best would be filing an issue here: https://pagure.io/epel/issues and/or bringing things up on the epel-devel list again. |
