Description BasG 2017-01-27 17:24:34 UTC
Description of problem:

As of nagios-plugins-2.1.4-stable, check_snmp, when making use use of rate calculation, returns the following error:
`cannot create directory: /var/[XXX]`
where [XXX] corresponds to the UID of the user executing the plugin (in this specific use case that is icinga).
Making sure this path exists clears the error.

This path seemed to be /var/check_snmp/ in previous versions, which was a slightly more predictable behavior.

My request is twofold:
1: make the rate-calculation path settable by arguments.
2: improve documentation on this particular behavior.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

nagios-plugins 2.1.4

How reproducible:

Switch on rate-calculation through check_snmp --rate argument.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

Thanks I will look at this problem. Upstream says they will have an updated tree in a couple of days. I will see if they fixed it there and if not work on a patch to do so.
