xcdroast and cdda2wav are not in RHEL 3 Created attachment 108286 [details]
Rebuild of cdrtools-2.01.0.a32-0.EL33.1.src.rpm package creates cdda2wav-2.01.0.a32-0.EL3.1.i386.rpm file
This is the output (edited for brevity) from rebuilding the
cdrtools-2.01.0.a32-0.EL33.1.src.rpm package. It creates a binary cdda2wav rpm
file, as well as binary packages for mkisofs, cdrecord, and cdrecord-devel.
If they aren't in RHEL3, then why are mkisofs, cdrecord, and cdrecord-devel included? Alternately, why does cdrtools include cdda2wav? These four packages all come from the cdrtools source package. Please see the attached file for a demonstration. If cdda2wav is to be excluded, then I would expect it to be broken into a seperate src.rpm file, instead of quietly being included in the cdrtools source package. I agree that xcdroast is not part of RHEL3, it merely was used in as an example of a package that has cdda2wav as a dependency. NEEDINFO_PM has been deprecated. Changing status to NEEDINFO and changing ownership to pm manager. This bug is filed against RHEL 3, which is in maintenance phase. During the maintenance phase, only security errata and select mission critical bug fixes will be released for enterprise products. Since this bug does not meet that criteria, it is now being closed. For more information of the RHEL errata support policy, please visit: http://www.redhat.com/security/updates/errata/ If you feel this bug is indeed mission critical, please contact your support representative. You may be asked to provide detailed information on how this bug is affecting you. |
