This is already in rhel-7.3
[0 root@qeos-227 system]# systemctl disable crond.service 
Removed symlink /etc/systemd/system/multi-user.target.wants/crond.service.
[0 root@qeos-227 system]# ln -s crond.service timee-thing.service
[0 root@qeos-227 system]# systemctl daemon-reload
[0 root@qeos-227 system]# systemctl enable timee-thing.service
Created symlink from /etc/systemd/system/multi-user.target.wants/crond.service to /usr/lib/systemd/system/crond.service.
[0 root@qeos-227 system]# rpm -q systemd
systemd-219-30.el7.x86_64
