Description Andrew Bauer 2017-03-29 15:39:44 UTC
Description of problem:
The vlc package in the RPMFusion repo is un-installable due to missing libupnp dependency in epel 6.

el7 libupnp-1.6.19-2 appears to rebuild fine on el6:
https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=18664824

Would the package maintainer be willing to build libupnp for epel 6?

Alternatively, I can request commit access and build the package if that is acceptable. Thank you.

Comment 1 Simone Caronni 2017-04-04 10:29:50 UTC
This is kind of strange, as the build was there, packages were built against it and eventually it got deleted:

https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=396891

The EPEL 6 branch was revived in January, but no package was built.

Since there are now 5 different security bugs in the version in EPEL 6/7 (1388774, 1358614, 1358352, 1146033, 905578), instead of releasing the same version again as an update for EPEL 6 I was thinking to update the versions there to the latest one in Fedora; closing the security bugs.

There are no relevant ABI changes.
