Description Filip Brychta 2017-04-04 13:36:49 UTC
Description of problem:
It's not possible to tell if invoked EAP power operation was successful or not.
It only shows that the operation was initiated "Stop initiated for selected server(s)" but there is no history or event showing result.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
5.8.0.8-alpha1.20170328221054_e6ca7a2
Middleware Manager Services: Running	0.33.0.Final-redhat-1 (commit a284b29a267537d4ee4cee517d7566409366149b)

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Add a new middleware provider
2. Install EAP7 with hawkular agent and register it with middleware provider and start it
3. Navigate to middleware provider in UI and wait for the EAP 7 to appear
4. Invoke "Stop server" operation

Actual results:
It's not possible to tell if invoked EAP power operation was successful or not.
It only shows that the operation was initiated "Stop initiated for selected server(s)" but there is no history or event showing result.

Expected results:
User should know result of the operation. Ideally whole history of operations.

This seems to be a feature request as current behavior afaik matches other similar miq areas.
If so, I propose to mark as RFE and target accordingly
Johh?

Comment 3 John Doyle 2017-04-04 14:51:21 UTC
I agree with the request, and that it's also an RFE. I'll log a requirement in the planning JIRA.

Comment 4 Alissa 2017-04-05 09:07:02 UTC
Thanks John, please add a link to the requirement and select target release (and then you can reassign back to engineering)

Comment 5 John Doyle 2017-04-05 18:16:10 UTC
I was about to create the JIRA requirement for this, but am confused about the state. My understanding is that power events are captured, but the title of the BZ seems to state otherwise. I understand we're missing a result of the operation, are we not capturing the event at all in the timeline?

Comment 6 Filip Brychta 2017-04-06 07:09:03 UTC
I attached a screenshot showing situation after stop operation.
There is message saying "Stop initiated for selected servers" but there is nothing in Notifications (right top corner). So user only knows that the operation was initiated, but there is no result of the operation or any history of operations invoked earlier.
