Description Mihir Lele 2017-04-06 16:11:41 UTC
Description of problem:

Content View version delete fails with error "PLP0000: Pulp exception occurred: PulpExecutionException"

Task description shows something like:

description: "[Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/var/lib/pulp/published/yum/https/repos/acme/content_views/CVtest/23.0/custom/xyz'"

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 6.2.8

How reproducible: This issue is not 100% reproducible. It can occur randomly with any CV

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Try deleting a CV version

Actual results:

Cv version task should get completed

Expected results:

CV task is stuck in paused state with the error mentioned in the description.

Additional info:

Workaround to this issue is to manually create the directory /var/lib/pulp/published/yum/https/repos/acme/content_views/CVtest/23.0/custom/xyz on the Satellite and then resume the task. Then delete the directory after the task gets completed.

Comment 12 Bryan Kearney 2018-11-01 14:44:54 UTC
The Satellite Team is attempting to provide an accurate backlog of bugzilla requests which we feel will be resolved in the next few releases. We do not believe this bugzilla will meet that criteria, and have plans to close it out in 1 month. This is not a reflection on the validity of the request, but a reflection of the many priorities for the product. If you have any concerns about this, feel free to contact Rich Jerrido or Bryan Kearney or your account team. If we do not hear from you, we will close this bug out. Thank you.

Comment 13 Bryan Kearney 2018-11-30 14:50:49 UTC
Thank you for your interest in Satellite 6. We have evaluated this request, and while we recognize that it is a valid request, we do not expect this to be implemented in the product in the foreseeable future. This is due to other priorities for the product, and not a reflection on the request itself. We are therefore closing this out as WONTFIX. If you have any concerns about this, please do not reopen. Instead, feel free to contact Rich Jerrido or Bryan Kearney. Thank you.

Comment 17 Evgeni Golov 2020-11-16 14:31:29 UTC
This is fixed in Pulp upstream, and I am proposing this bug for inclusion in 6.9 to ease later bulk content view cleanup.

Comment 18 Brian Bouterse 2020-11-16 15:38:21 UTC
I'm new to the sat lead role. Is there anything the Pulp team needs to do to facilitate this request?

Comment 19 Evgeni Golov 2020-11-16 18:38:20 UTC
(In reply to Brian Bouterse from comment #18)

> facilitate this request?

No, Pulp is all set, this is just about actually verifying the Pulp change inside Satellite.

Comment 20 Lai 2021-01-06 16:17:05 UTC
Step to retest:

1. Sync 20+ repos
2. Create cv and add 20+ repos from 1 to it
3. Publish cv
4. Remove cv version
5. Delete cv

Expected:
Should successfully remove cv version and delete cv

Actual:
Successfully remove cv version and delete cv

Note: Since this issue isn't 100% reproducible, I added a high number of repos to overload the CV as best I can. After publishing and and removing the cv version and deleting cv, there doesn't seem to be any issues. I've checked the task and dynaflow page and none show any errors.

Verified with pulp-server-2.21.4-2.el7sat.noarch

Verified on 6.9.0_07
