Exiv2 0.26 is available. New version is needed by darktable users because there are various patches that fix crashes with certain kind of cameras, example: Casio

Comment 1 Rex Dieter 2017-05-02 13:37:39 UTC
Working on it, will likely import into rawhide later today... and start the task of rebuilding all dependencies.

Comment 2 Germano Massullo 2017-05-02 13:44:59 UTC
Thank you Rex

Comment 3 Germano Massullo 2017-05-05 11:04:59 UTC
It would be great to have it on Fedora stable releases too :-)

Comment 4 Rex Dieter 2017-05-05 12:08:20 UTC
trickier, requires rebuiding of a large number of dependencies.

Besides, appears there's at least to 2 dependant packages that fail to build against the latest version, which would be a blocker anyway:

libextractor
libgexiv2

Comment 5 Rex Dieter 2017-05-05 13:58:11 UTC
If worse comes to worse, I could probably make a compat-exiv2-0.25 pkg in the meantime

Comment 6 Gwyn Ciesla 2017-06-08 13:01:24 UTC
Got this on f26 today:

Problem: cannot install the best update candidate for package kf5-kfilemetadata-5.34.0-1.fc26.x86_64
  - nothing provides libexiv2.so.26()(64bit) needed by kf5-kfilemetadata-5.35.0-1.fc26.x86_64

I see exiv2-0.26-4.fc26 in f26-updates-candidate, will this be going to stable? If not, kf5-kfilemetadata will need a rebuild.

Comment 7 Rex Dieter 2017-06-09 11:58:15 UTC
Yeah, that build was done (accidentally) against exiv2-0.26, kf5-kfilemetadata-5.34.0-2.fc26 should fix that.

Comment 8 Rex Dieter 2017-06-09 11:58:39 UTC
make that kf5-kfilemetadata-5.35.0-2.fc26

Comment 9 Gwyn Ciesla 2017-06-09 12:22:38 UTC
Thank you!

Comment 10 Germano Massullo 2018-01-25 08:44:06 UTC
can we close this?

Comment 11 Rex Dieter 2018-01-25 20:52:34 UTC
yes
