The missing firmware files are present again in netinst image Fedora-Workstation-netinst-x86_64-26-20170513.n.0. Recent netinst images show an erratic inclusion of Intel wifi firmware files: on 2017-05-19 they were missing completely, on 2017-05-23 the firmware for the 5000 series was absent while some others were present. Proposed as a Blocker and Freeze Exception for 26-beta by Fedora user frieben using the blocker tracking app because: The absence of the firmware provided by package iwl5000-firmware renders using a wireless device Intel (R) Ultimate N Wifi Link 5300 AGN for performing a network install impossible. This deficiency violates the beta criterion "Remote package sources" which requires "When using the dedicated installer images, the installer must be able to use HTTP, FTP and NFS repositories as package sources." I'm clearing the Fixed In Version field because it implies we made specific changes in anaconda to fix this. We did not. Please allow package maintainers to manipulate the Fixed In Version field as appropriate when changes that address specific bugs land in new builds. As for the issue at hand, I'm not sure why the driver is present in some composes and missing in others, but let's start with lorax to investigate, since this isn't anaconda-specific. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 1440417 *** |
