Description Fred Gleason 2017-05-17 21:35:37 UTC
When attempting to install the "xfce" group, the dependency solver reports that package 'xfce4-mixer-4.10.0-7.el7.x86_64' cannot be installed because of an unsatisfied dependency on 'libxfce4util.so.6()(64bit)'. The currently posted 'libxfce4util' package ['libxfce4util-4.12.1-2.el7.x86_64'] provides 'libxfce4util.so.7()(64bit)'.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): xfce4-mixer-4.10.0-7.el7.x86_64

How reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Run 'yum -y groupinstall xfce'

Actual results:
*** snip snip ***
Error: Package: xfce4-mixer-4.10.0-7.el7.x86_64 (epel)
           Requires: libxfce4util.so.6()(64bit)
You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem
You could try running: rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest
*** snip snip ***

Expected results: Successful install

Additional info: none

Comment 1 Mukundan Ragavan 2017-05-17 22:16:49 UTC
oh yeah, this was never rebuilt for xfce 4.12 unfortunately.

But, since it's already present in the repos (upstream prefers xfce4-pulseaudio-plugin), I will rebuild this.

Perhaps, we should remove it out of the comps ...

Comment 2 Fred Gleason 2017-05-18 16:33:06 UTC
I'd be fine with removing the mixer component from the group altogether.

Comment 3 Mukundan Ragavan 2017-05-19 02:03:32 UTC
Fred, can you give this build a shot and see if it works for you?

Comment 4 Fred Gleason 2017-05-19 15:34:31 UTC
Looks like that does the trick:

*** snip snip ***
[root@rdvirt0-rfa1 ~]# yum install xfce4-mixer-4.10.0-8.el7.x86_64.rpm
[...]
Complete!

[root@rdvirt0-rfa1 ~]# yum groupinstall xfce
[...]
Complete!
*** snip snip ***
