The problem appeared to be the fact that I was running ndiswrapper-0.12 with a kernel using a 4K stack. I downloaded and installed kernel 2.6.10-1.753 today and had the very same problems. When I went to build ndiswrapper for it, I happened to notice the warning about 4K stacks in the build output. As the crashes were generally during network access and because I recently got a VOIP phone that exaggerated the problem even with the -1.727 kernel, I decided to test a kernel with an 8K stack. I downloaded the source for 2.6.10-1.753 and changed only the 4K stack option, turning it off. x.753 doesn't crash anymore. I'm changing the status to solved for now. If the problem reappears, I'll change it back. |
