https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2017-c283e18644 contains a fix for a nouveau problem. Please test 4.11.5.

Same issue.

It comes from a bunch of SecureBoot changes done for 4.11. Unfortunately the Nvidia employee that worked on this is no longer there.

It also does not help that my GPU is not a reference design. Either I have to figure out how to stay on an old kernel or install the proprietary drivers.

I discovered a commit by the former nvidia employee which fixes my issue. It's queued for 4.12 and needs to be backported to 4.11. The commit is here: https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/drivers/gpu/drm/nouveau?h=v4.12-rc6&id=913b97f94478db1c93cc5a1f07fa03ee4e2d5f8b
