Description MaxiM 2017-06-16 10:03:37 UTC
Hello,
I use Enlightenment (enlightenment-0.21.5-1.fc25.x86_64).

After upgrading kernel to 4.11.4-200.fc25.x86_64, I'm unable to execute sudo and to unlock screensaver.

Executing sudo with or w/o any parameter gives me a message:

sudo: effective uid is not 0, is /usr/bin/sudo on a file system with the 'nosuid' option set or an NFS file system without root privileges?

That's strange for me.
I have tried to ssh root@localhost, then "su - user" to decrease privileges.
Sudo works properly in the case, but continuously not working while exetuting from Enlightenment+Konsole shell.

Also, I'm unable to unlock Enlightenment from screensaver even with simpliest password, but I do not know which logs should I collect for that case.

All these cases are related to Kernel upgraded from 4.10 to 4.11.
Rebooting back to kernel 4.10.16-200.fc25.x86_64 fixes all these issues.

Sudo works properly when using KDE and Kernel 4.11.

Multiple reboots gives 100% reproducible results.

Is there a way to fix the system to work properly under Kernel 4.11 and Enlightenment?

I'm open to do any investigations on my workstation.

Thanks.

If it works when you boot into 4.10, I suspect strongly this is a kernel bug. Reassigning.

Please test 4.11.5, there was a fix for known ptrace bug which affects enlightement

Thank you very much.
4.11.5 fixes the issue.
