Systematically review the changes contained in the 4.11-rt patchset in order to spot:

 - bugfixes
 - enhancements
 - removal of unnecessary code

After we agree on the changes we would like to import, we should create a bugzilla ticket for each of these changes.  We will discuss the changes that may require the backport of infrastructure, to evaluate the pros and cons.
