Description Davy 2017-07-17 15:28:45 UTC
Title: Configuring PostgreSQL

Describe the issue:
The password for rhqadmin is not 'password'. It should be 'rhqadmin' as mentioned in JON 3.1 document.

Create a PostgreSQL role named rhqadmin with a password 'password'.

Suggestions for improvement:

Create a PostgreSQL role named rhqadmin with a password 'rhqadmin'.

Hi Davy,
When updating this section of the Installation Guide recently, we determined that suggesting the rhqadmin password as 'rhqadmin' may present a security risk.
Any password can be used for the database user, provided that the 'rhq-server.properties' file is updated, as indicated at the start of section 3.6 of the Installation Guide.
However, thanks to your feedback, we see that clarification is needed and I will add a note indicating that the default postgresql password used by rhqctl is 'rhqadmin'.

Hi Davy,

The Configuring PostgreSQL section of the Installation Guide has now been updated:

https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_jboss_operations_network/3.3/html-single/installation_guide/#Database-PostgreSQL_Quick_Start_Installation

Thank you again for the feedback.

Please let me know whether or not you are satisfied with the correction sometime next week so I can close the bugzilla case, otherwise the bugzilla case will be closed this time next week.
