Wrong component Hi, thank you for reporting your issue. Do you have hplip package installed? According to troubleshooting output it says you don't have. If you have hplip installed, would you mind reinstalling your printer by: 1) hp-setup -i 2) hp-plugin -i And would you mind trying printing you document from command line like: lp -d your_printer_name document (In reply to Peter Robinson from comment #1) > Wrong component Please correct as I am unsure how or what to put . (In reply to Zdenek Dohnal from comment #2) > Hi, > > thank you for reporting your issue. Do you have hplip package installed? > According to troubleshooting output it says you don't have. Issue still remains. There has been a recent change, I am guessing a recent update through dnf. I can now print web pages and emails. Text documents and Libre office documents are still not printing. Further testing today: 8-22-2017 [Howard@otis ~]$ lp -h resistance6nov2016 lp: Error - scheduler not responding. [Howard@otis ~]$ lp -dh resistance6nov2016 lp: Error - unable to access "resistance6nov2016" - No such file or directory [Howard@otis ~]$ lp -dh /American Maquisresistance6nov2016 lp: Error - unable to access "/American" - No such file or directory [Howard@otis ~]$ lp -dh /American Maquis/resistance6nov2016 lp: Error - unable to access "/American" - No such file or directory [Howard@otis ~]$ lp -dh /home/Howard/AmericanMaquis/resistance6nov2016 lp: The printer or class does not exist. [Howard@otis ~]$ lp -d -h /home/Howard/AmericanMaquis/resistance6nov2016 lp: The printer or class does not exist. [Howard@otis ~]$ lp -d /home/Howard/AmericanMaquis/resistance6nov2016 lp: The printer or class does not exist. [Howard@otis ~]$ lp -h /home/Howard/AmericanMaquis/resistance6nov2016 lp: Error - scheduler not responding. [Howard@otis ~]$ lp -d HP_Color_la...MFP_M476nw lp: The printer or class does not exist. [Howard@otis ~]$ lp -d HP_Color_La*MFP_M476nw lp: The printer or class does not exist. [Howard@otis ~]$ lp -d HP_Color_LaserJet_MFP_M476nw /home/Howard/AmericanMaquis/resistance6nov2016* request id is HP_Color_LaserJet_MFP_M476nw-125 (1 file(s)) [Howard@otis ~]$ This printed a text document. Same doc will not print from Libre Office nor from Text Editor. From man pages: -h hostname[:port] - chooses alternate server -d destination - print files to the named printer You can print from CLI lie I mentioned in comment #2 and as you did in last command. Previous errors are correct, you used wrong options or didn't supply arguments. Can you print like this: lp -d HP_Color_LaserJet_MFP_M476nw document.pdf some your pdf document from CLI? Or file from libreoffice try to print from CLI? lp -d HP_Color_LaserJet_MFP_M476nw libreoffice_document Do you have updated cups-filters and qpdf-libs? (In reply to Zdenek Dohnal from comment #7) > From man pages: > > -h hostname[:port] - chooses alternate server > > -d destination - print files to the named printer > > You can print from CLI lie I mentioned in comment #2 and as you did in last > command. (In reply to Zdenek Dohnal from comment #8) > Do you have updated cups-filters and qpdf-libs? yes, all filters and libs up to date. Like this from CLI: [Howard@otis ~]$ lp -d HP_Color_LaserJet_MFP_M476nw /home/Howard/Documents/listnormandie.odt request id is HP_Color_LaserJet_MFP_M476nw-128 (1 file(s)) [Howard@otis ~]$ No. The printer starts outputting gibberish, not the document. Printer does not print .rtf file either. Printer is printing .pdf and .txt from cli. This message is a reminder that Fedora 26 is nearing its end of life. Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 26. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '26'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version. Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not able to fix it before Fedora 26 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete. Fedora 26 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2018-05-29. Fedora 26 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this bug. Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed. Gather cleaning materials: ...
