Description Jiri Belka 2017-08-08 11:13:11 UTC
Description of problem:

Reinstall (Install Host) dialog could have a SSH fetch fingerprint action. Why? When doing EL6 to EL7 migration we keep the host registered inside engine and we say to users to edit hosts ssh fingerprint via Edit Host and then to do Reinstall. IMO SSH fingerprint "update" could be inside Reinstall dialog as well, less action for users.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
ovirt-engine-4.1.5.1-0.1.el7.noarch

How reproducible:
100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. have a host in maintenance
2. regenerate host's ssh keys
3. click Reinstall

Actual results:
Host dell-r210ii-04 installation failed. Invalid fingerprint SHA256:Sw7N6i7tICXiCuhO1ac3tD0+QFVjc7YbSSXLDDnTJCE, expected SHA256:eeaqjdQ/52/jH2pZDBN1/B92V+mJT5KH6F/Gf4SjK7o.

because we did not say anything to forget old SSH fingerprint and there's no way to fetch new ssh fingerprint inside Reinstall dialog.

Expected results:
- either have a way to "update" ssh fingerprint of a host inside Reinstall
  dialog
or
- when doing Reinstall and engine could not ssh to host because invalid
fingerprint, there could be a popup to override old fingerprint and use new
  one

We didn't get to this bug for more than 2 years, and it's not being considered for the upcoming 4.4. It's unlikely that it will ever be addressed so I'm suggesting to close it.
If you feel this needs to be addressed and want to work on it please remove cond nack and target accordingly.
