The installed version of /etc/X11/XF86Config differs quite radically from one
generated *after* installation using Xconfigurator.  In fact, it contains
many modelines that use interlacing.  All of these interlacing modes
exhibit video corruption in the following instances:

 1) open a Gnome Terminal window.
 2) Move the mouse cursor *inside* the window.
 3) Start typing.

The mouse cursor will disappear, but tall, flashing, semi-transparent
rectangles will appear on the screen in its place.

I've seen this on various servers that use the Mach64 driver on ATI
Rage IIc and Rage XL controllers.  These controllers have 4MB of
memory, and I'm using a Compaq QVision 210 (21" multi-sync
monitor).

** Easy fix: **

Don't use modelines that include the "interlace" option.  These
only occur in the resolutions 1280x1024, 1152x864 and 1024x768.
Strangely enough, if you run Xconfigurator *after* installation, these
modelines will not be put into the XF86Config file.

Compaq respectfully considers this a "Must Fix" for RH 7.0.

OK, will remove interlaced mode lines.
