Description Florian Apolloner 2017-08-15 07:48:16 UTC
EPEL currently has LLVM 3.9 but only Clang 3.4. It would be nice if there were a Clang 3.9 to match LLVM.

I have seen https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1415814 which says that building a newer Clang would require devtoolset for c++ 11 support, but afaik the gcc shipped in CentOS 7 is currently 4.8.5 and has support for nearly all c++ 111 features.

It would be nice. I've run out of time to work on it. My beginnings of a package can be found here if anyone wants to take it on:

https://www.cora.nwra.com/~orion/fedora/clang3.9-3.9.1-1.el7.src.rpm

This package has changed maintainer in Fedora. Reassigning to the new maintainer of this component.

EPEL 7 entered end-of-life (EOL) status on 2024-06-30.\n\nEPEL 7 is no longer maintained, which means that it\nwill not receive any further security or bug fix updates.\n As a result we are closing this bug.
