Description Dylan Gross 2017-09-01 16:59:56 UTC
1. Proposed title of this feature request

Package and provide the zypper plugin for subscription-manager as a supported RedHat-provided package as well as the subscription-manager via a method for non-RHEL clients.

3. What is the nature and description of the request?

Deliver and support the zypper plugin for subscription-manager.

4. Why does the customer need this? (List the business requirements here)

In order to manage SLES clients with Red Hat Satellite 6.x, subscription-manager needs a plugin for zypper.

5. How would the customer like to achieve this? (List the functional requirements here)

   Functionality exists currently upstream

6. For each functional requirement listed in question 5, specify how Red Hat
and the customer can test to confirm the requirement is successfully implemented.

SLES clients will be able to use subscription-manager to manage repos and content, while the zypper plugin would replace yum functionality

7. Is there already an existing RFE upstream or in Red Hat bugzilla?

  Unknown.

8. Does the customer have any specific timeline dependencies?

  As soon as able.

9. Is the sales team involved in this request and do they have any additional input?

  Yes

10. List any affected packages or components.

   Subscription-manager

11. Would the customer be able to assist in testing this functionality if implemented?

   Yes.
