Description mpapet 2005-02-18 23:24:44 UTC
From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.5)
Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0

Description of problem:
FC 3 seems to identify the 3c509 card correctly and I can get a dhcp
lease, but there is *no* Internet.

It happened with the initial install from ISO's. System is up-to-date
and still has the same issue.

Removed kudzu from boot sequence (re: old reports of similar issue)
and it did not "fix" the issue.

We have a bunch of old Dell towers in the office and they all have the
same NIC card. I borrowed a couple to see if it was a hardware issue.
I confirmed it is not a hardware issue

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
kernel-2.6..10 (Latest as of 2/18/05)

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Boot machine
2. Run dhclient
3.

Actual Results: Get cryptic error message(s) about a duplex error
with no connection ability to send/receive packets.

Expected Results: get on the network and use Internet.

can you paste those 'cryptic messages' ? lspci and dmesg output would be useful too.

what I got. I'll send you the card if you want, I've got enough of them.
