Description Jan Hutař 2017-09-15 05:32:00 UTC
Description of problem:
Remote execution job executed twice (or reported twice) on every client when executing on thousands of hosts

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
satellite-6.2.11-2.0.el7sat.noarch

How reproducible:
Most of the time

Steps to Reproduce:
1. I have Satellite and 16 capsules with almost 30k clients registered
2. I schedule execution of ReX job on hosts matching "name ~ container1"
and preview on job scheduling page shows "Resolves to: 3429 hosts"
3. When job finishes, its task says "6858 task(s), 6817 success, 41 fail"
4. Job -> Hosts then shows all rows twice (at least on first 3 pages)

Actual results:
Looks like there are shown 2 reports for each systems in Job -> Hosts (but with 1 URI, so looks like report itself is there only once)

Expected results:
Number of hosts where the job ran should match expectations

@jan: I suspect it might be https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1465628, could you confirm that happens also with 6.2.12 snaps?

Comment 3 Jan Hutař 2017-09-15 07:58:13 UTC
Resetting needinfo on myself.

Comment 4 Ivan Necas 2017-09-15 12:40:22 UTC
If it was future execution, you might be hitting https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1478442, that is also scheduled for 6.2.12

Already closed, removing NEEDINFO on me.
