Fedora Core 3 is now maintained by the Fedora Legacy project for security updates only. If this problem is a security issue, please reopen and reassign to the Fedora Legacy product. If it is not a security issue and hasn't been resolved in the current FC5 updates or in the FC6 test release, reopen and change the version to match. Thank you! It is still not resolved in FC5 nor FC6test1. thanks. reopening as per comment #2. Looks like we were already doing this for regular partitions, but not for LVM. The new setup is that the original filesystem label is displayed in the logical volume editor and is the first in the drop down list of mount points. So you can easily select the original mount point. Yes, you are right: the last mount point is the first in the list of available mount points. BUT, still I have to click 'edit' on any partition and click 'select' on the mount point of that partition. My RFE is to ENTER the last mount point at each partition so that I don't have to use the 'edit' button at all (only if I really want to change things). So the last mount point should also be shown as current mount point in the list of the partitions so that I normally could click only "> Next". This RFE is solely to improve usability and make things easier. Still open for Fedora 9 Alpha. Putting the mountpoint first in the list of available mountpoints is as far as we should go here. We violate the principle of least surprise by setting the mountpoints "automagically". I'm sorry that it is boring to reset the mountpoints, but it is preferable to potentially making many other users angry at us for making choices without their input. |
