Power options fro template screenshot
This issue seems to be fixed on master by presenting only vms in that view. Will check which PR fixed it. This bug seems to be generic bug. In master in this view there are no templates so the problem is not there. Ilanit can we check whether there is not RHV specific BZ for this issue? Found these 2 old related bugs: bug 938936, bug 945634, which are NOT provider specific, however both of them were not fixed. As for not having the templates on CFME-5.9.0.4 (and on master) - Filed Bug 1507993 - "Templates are not displayed" ( Once this bug is fixed, I'll be able to check if the problem, of having power option available for Templates, on CFME-5.9 is generic or RHV specific. Ilanit, can you re-test? Tested on CFME-5.9.0.8/VMWare. It seems the same problem also exist for VMWare templates. For VMWare templates, power operations, in VMs & Templates details page, are possible to run, and they end up even successfully, as can be seen in the configuration->tasks page. Thus moving bug from RHV to CFME Core team. Please noticed CFME related existing closed bugs, mentioned in comment 5 Bronagh, Can you please explain why this bug was moved back to "RHEVM"? As mentioned in comment 7, this bug seem to be NOT RHV specific, but rather a general CFME bug. Thanks. I think the issue here is that the validations which are used to grey out the menu buttons only work when you have clicked on a specific instance, they aren't used on the list views. For example if you are on the "All VMs & Templates" view and you multi-select 10 VMs from 3 different providers the reconfigure button is available even if one of those VMs says it doesn't support reconfigure. I suppose it is possible to invoke the validations on every item that is checked but that sounds like a lot of processing everytime someone checks a box. DanC I'm going to assign to you since this validation is all done at the UI level but I believe this is always the way it has been. |
