This isn't "broken" per se...there just are no ethtool methods for anything except get driver info. :-( I'll look into adding some... :-) Created attachment 112676 [details]
jwltest-3c59x-2_6_12-rc2.patch
It seems that the latest 3c59x driver upstream provides enhanced ethtool
support...
Pre-built test kernels are available here: http://people.redhat.com/linville/kernels/rhel4/ Please give them a try and report the results. Thanks! Hmm, I'm not sure I can help with the test here. The machine with the NIC is remote RHEL3 stable system used as a router and I'm not willing to break it :) ... But I cat try to change the card in the machine as soon as I get there and test it on my computer. Created attachment 112729 [details]
jwltest-3c59x-ethtool.patch
Pretty sure it would be better to use a RHEL3-based patch and test
kernel...whoops! Pre-built test kernels coming soon...
Pre-built kernels available here: http://people.redhat.com/linville/kernels/rhel3/ Please test (at your convenience) and post the results. Thanks! I have verified that the patch is working on my i686 RHEL3 box... Works also for me, the output looks much more nicer .. A fix for this problem has just been committed to the RHEL3 U6 patch pool this evening (in kernel version 2.4.21-32.2.EL). An advisory has been issued which should help the problem described in this bug report. This report is therefore being closed with a resolution of ERRATA. For more information on the solution and/or where to find the updated files, please follow the link below. You may reopen this bug report if the solution does not work for you. http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2005-663.html |
