Description Brennan Vincello 2017-10-09 21:00:16 UTC
As and Openshift Online admin, I'd like to be able to use a static Public IP Address for A Record pointing instead of CNAME.

This is because pointing CNAME to @ root domain seems to break the MX Record mail which is also pointed to @ root domain.

I am not sure why they can't make a CNAME for the root address as well as an MX record. Mail delivery will look for the MX first.

So: CNAME foo.com > foo.rhcloud.com
    MX foo.com > 1.2.3.4

Everything but email will look at the CNAME.

Note that MX records must always point at IP addresses (per the spec).
