Hey Josep, Would you be willing to perform a git bisect to find the offending commit? Hi Jeremy, I can try bisecting the kernel, could you point me to the git repository used for fedora's kernels? Thanks! As a side note, just mention that I have another laptop (also asus) that uses the same wifi driver, but doesn't show any problems. Before bisection I would check if updating the firmware does solve the problem. Josep, please download latest firmware blob from https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/iwlwifi/linux-firmware.git/plain/iwlwifi-8000C-31.ucode and put into /lib/firmware/ directory . Then restart machine and see if issue still happen. Hi, I just tried the new firmware, and it seems to solve the problem, I am not seeing any issues or crashes so far. The firmware works for the older kernel too (4.13.4-200). thanks! Great! |
Created attachment 1337704 [details] Boot log kernel 4.13.5-200 Description of problem: Just installed kernel-4.13.5-200.fc26.x86_64 as an update, and after reboot wireless networking is gone. The kernel seems to crash in the iwlwifi module as seen in the attached boot log. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): kernel-4.13.5-200.fc26.x86_64 Using kernel-4.13.4-200.fc26.x86_64 shows no issues whatsoever.
